Good SATURDAY morning!
The Gallery Pics are from Day One of our Lake Lanier Houseboat Vacation. I'll be adding new pictures Monday through Wednesday or Thursday from the rest of the trip. I have too many to post in one day... finally!
We had a very good time, and I'll be sharing details (pros and cons), as well as a few stories as we get back in the swing of things on A Simple Life next week. ALL of the kids want to go back next year, so all in all I consider the trip a huge success. However, there are some things which need tweaking.
There will be plenty of time for all of this beginning first thing Monday morning.
Weekend Happenings
We arrived home from Georgia around 2:30 p.m. Friday... and everyone except Mikie had plans for the evening. Austin and Melia had a date. Josh spent some time with friends. And Roxie and I had an annual Cousin Girls' Night Out scheduled at Amy and Monica's house. (Barbecue, swimming and Pictionary... a very enjoyable evening.)
Don't feel too badly for Mikie. I think he had a lovely evening relaxing in his recliner holding the remote and napping. (It was a much needed quiet evening after spending the week playing "Cap'n Mikie.")
We heard through the grapevine our area of the world had a little rain this past week. (No rain in Georgia, by the way. Thank goodness.) That means today is a grass-cutting kind of day for all three of the guys. Vacation is officially OVER.
Sunday is going to be a particularly busy day for Josh and Roxie. Other than attending church, Josh will be heading to Six Flags for the day with his Chick-Fil-A team. He is ready to ride as many roller coasters as he possibly can... and I'm glad I will not be standing in long lines in Georgia shoulder-to-shoulder with other sweaty parents and kids. So glad.
Roxie and her volleyball teammates begin Camp tomorrow. She is ready to get on the court and start practicing for the upcoming season. And if Roxie is happy... Well, you all know how that sentence ends.
Mikie and I are planning on a low-key Sunday afternoon and/or evening date. We haven't decided on exactly what we'll be doing... just that we will be doing something together and by ourselves. No teenagers or twenty-somethings allowed! (That sounded a little harsh, didn't it? Almost like we needed some time away from our offspring. Yep. That's how I meant for it to sound.)
That's it in a super simple nutshell for the Faulkner Five. I hope y'all have a wonderful summer weekend with your family and friends. I'll be back Monday morning with more pics and some details from our vacation.
Take care, and I'll talk to you Monday.
Sincerely,
The Enchanting Belinda
