Mindless Monday, Blog Linkage, Quotable Quotes, Pinterest Stuff (St. Patrick's Day Color Hunt and Shamrock Hunt)

Good Monday morning!

RANDOMNESS #1 - The Bike has become my new mode of exercise this year. Because of scheduling conflicts, life conflicts and/or kid conflicts, the Body Pump and Body Flow classes haven't really been working for me the last few months.

However, The Bike has been calling my name.

Just between you and me, I think I like the idea of sitting down and exercising.

I think I like the idea of sitting down... a lot.

It suits me.

I've set a goal of riding The Bike 1,000 miles the month of February.

And on Monday, February 17, 2014, I can happily report I am at 84.23 miles.

NOTE - On second thought, 1,000 miles in the month of February may have been too lofty a goal!

RANDOMNESS #2 - Mike and I attended our first Samford University Step Sing this past Valentine's Day... and I am hooked.

It is fast-paced, entertaining, thought-provoking and just plain fun.

I loved everything except the "thought-provoking" part.

I like my entertainment simple, and quite frankly, on a fifth-grade level.

RANDOMNESS #3 - The Chick had a really nice Valentine's Day. Balloons, candy, movie, dinner and some Yogurt Mountain made for a memorable February 14.

RANDOMNESS #4 - We had our annual Valentine's Day Banquet Saturday morning... and it was much like year's past.

Heart-shaped plates, candy, candles, peppermints...

And pink scrambled eggs.

Nothing tastes better than pink scrambled eggs.

RANDOMNESS #5 - We celebrated Mr. Faulkner's 87th birthday in Oxford yesterday.

I think I'm in love.

I guess it's only fair to post a picture of Grandpa...

After all, it WAS his birthday.

Quotable Quotes

"I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us whether we be six, or sixty." Walt Disney

This quote makes me feel better about watching animated movies at 52 years of age.

Much better.

Her little boy, Dash, turned one this past weekend, and she gives some great ideas and pictures for planning a similar party for your little guy.

Very cute and doable!

2. Go to www.littlefamilyfun.com and just read everything.

If you want fun, good, simple ideas and activities for you and your kiddos, this is the blog for you. I LOVE it.

Pinterest Stuff

St. Patrick's Day Color Hunt

A simple and easy St. Patrick's Day activity you could do with your little ones is to go on a Green Hunt!

We grabbed a big bucket (which happened to be green) and searched through the house looking for things that were green!

Good color practice, and just plain fun!

Shamrock Hunt

Buy a package of glittery shamrocks on clearance or from The Dollar Tree.

1. After nap time, I laid the shamrocks out in a trail around the house. The kids followed the trail and it led them to a pair of St. Patrick's Day socks for each of them.

2. We used the rest of the shamrocks to decorate one of our windows.

Have a great Monday. I'll be back Friday with Weekend Happenings, a little article I'm working on and much more.

Take care, and I'll talk to you the end of the week.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda

  1. Dear Enchanted Chef: I'm afraid I might have to pass on the pink eggs. There is the distinct impression (from the picture) that some animal was divested of an internal organ that was chopped and cooked and served to humans. Bravo and Kudos to your family for partaking in said dish.

    1. I forgot to mention you have to eat pink scrambled eggs in a pretty dark dining room with only the tiny light of tea candles. That was probably a pretty important detail to leave out, huh?

Also, I don't recommend serving pink mashed potatoes any longer. It has that "internal organ" look, also!
