Roxie's Actual Birthday Day, Some Judith, Some Pepper Place, Quotable Quotes, Blog Linkage AND Pinterest Stuff (Sin Revealed Object Lesson)

Good Monday evening!

RANDOMNESS #1 - Roxie turned 20 last Sunday, and since we had planned a combo family party for her, Courtney and Josh for yesterday, Mike and I went to Auburn after Sunday School ON HER ACTUAL BIRTHDAY and took her out to eat at a restaurant called Hamilton's.

Great place for chicken and waffles, by the way!

Just a little mother/daughter lovin'.

Just a little TOO MUCH mother/daughter loving'.

And...

Some really good hallway dancin' to celebrate being on this here Earth 20 years!

RANDOMNESS #2 - Judith and I went to Grandmother's house for a visit last week, and we spent some quality outdoor time on her huge front porch.

We pulled out a box of toys...

And Judith spent 24 minutes putting her shoes back on her feet.

As everyone knows...

Taking them off is much easier than putting them back on again!

Such a tiny person sitting in such a big person way...

Well...

It just slays me!

After we left Grandmother's, we spent some time at my house learning a new-to-Judith game I like to call...

Rolling Toomer's Corner!

Next week, we're moving the game to the front yard bushes.

Oh, yes we are!

RANDOMNESS #3 - Josh and Courtney had a date night Friday, so she was able to spend the night with us. Uncle Austin and Aunt Melia came over to watch some Disney Sign-Along DVDs, and as you can tell...

They were mesmerizing.

RANDOMNESS #4 - Roxie also came home Friday night, so four of us (me, Mike, Roxie and Judith) went to Pepper Place for a couple of hours Saturday morning. It was Judith's second visit and Roxie's first.

Goat cheese tasting...

Caramel tasting...

Mugging for the camera...

Gentle ear tugging...

Steel City Poppin'...

And a little heart-to-heart with Pop made for an enjoyable Autumnal morning!

Quotable Quotes

I saw a lady in her 80s checking herself out in the mirror today. She said, "Once I was young and beautiful. Now, I'm just beautiful." Anonymous

2. Go to Nesting Place under My Blog List and read The Nester's post called "Fall Tour." You'll have to scroll down just a little. Beautiful, peaceful, autumnal décor.

Object Lesson

Sin Revealed

Even when we try to hide our sins, or pretend they never happened, they have a way of showing up... like buttons in a glass of cola.

You will need the following:

Clear drinking glass
Can of cola
Several plastic buttons
Spoon

To start the Object Talk, you will pour about 4 ounces of dark cola into a drinking glass. Then you will drop several buttons into the cola. The buttons will sink to the bottom where they will be out of sight, but in a few seconds, they will rise to the surface for all to see. Use a spoon to remove the buttons.

Say, "Have you ever felt after doing something wrong, if you just keep it a secret no one will ever find out? Do you know that no matter how hard we try to keep our sins a secret, they have a way of becoming known? Let me show you what I mean."

(Pour the soda into the glass) "This glass represents you, and this soda represents a place where we hide our bad secrets... maybe deep inside our heart where we do not want anybody to know. These buttons represent sin. (Point to buttons.) This button is the time you lied to someone. This button is the time you did not want to share with your friend. This button represents the television show your parents told you not to watch, but you did anyway. I am going to drop these sins into this glass of soda and they will be hidden from our sight, just like hiding our sins." (Drop all buttons into the cola.)

"Can you see them? They are hidden. Nevertheless, we can only keep these sins a secret for a little while; eventually sin has a way of coming to the surface. Look, there they are. Sin cannot be hidden forever. Therefore, instead of trying to hide sin, we need to try our best to do what is right. When we do fail, we know we can ask Jesus to forgive us, and He will. The Bible says, 'If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.' (1 John 1:9) He will clean us of our sins, just like this."

(Remove buttons with spoon.) "Now our heart (soda) is clean again."

Have a tremendously wonderful rest of the week... what with the cooler temps and all. I know I will be doing my autumnally best to enjoy each and every minute.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda
