Weekend Happenings, Pinterest Stuff (Planting Jelly Beans and Easter Basket Ideas for a Teen Guy)

Good Saturday morning!

I'm going to keep it succinct this beautiful weekend morn.

There's a lot to do and not a lot of time to mark off everything on the BIG OL' LIST!

RANDOMNESS #1 - Here are just a few more Nashville pics.

Unlike yesterday's bunch, these are cropped and photoshopped.

I'll tell you about the restaurants on Tuesday, but for our first meal in Nashville, we ate this as an appetizer.

"It just looks like a bowl of tater tots," you say.

"Ahhh. But does it look like tater tots cooked in duck fat?" I ask.

And to answer your next question...

"This is the ONLY duck fat fried food we ate."

"And it was VERY good."

I took this picture right before Mikie and I called it a night.

It was around 8:30 p.m. I think.

Night Life in Nashville means different things to different people.

We headed back to the hotel to drink hot tea and watch Seinfeld.

This is a close-up of "Elvis on the Roof."

Nuff said.

We found this beautiful Spring Apple on Broadway, and while I didn't buy it and eat it right there on the spot, I did admire it for perhaps a little longer than was necessary.

If I had one more day in Nashville, I would have gone into the Visual Arts Center and looked for their "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" exhibit.

I found a Big Gold Chair in Union Station Hotel and I was drawn to it.

I wish there was a way to install such a Big Gold Chair in The Big Gold Van. I think I could be truly happy if I had both in one area of my life.

This is the renovated train station in Downtown Nashville. Our Sunday School teacher, Tom, told us about it, and I'm pretty sure I want to stay here on our next visit.

Let me re-phrase that...

I'm 100 percent CERTAIN I want to stay at Union Station next time!

RANDOMNESS #2 - When I post Tuesday morning, I'll show you my "Nashville List." It was filled with restaurants, things to do (free, cheap and not-so-cheap), activities/restaurants we just stumbled upon and all of the activities we actually marked off the list.

NOTE - I never feel bad about ALL of the stuff we don't mark off the list because it is a reason to go back and visit again.

Sooner than later.

Planting Jelly Beans

Go outside the day before Easter and plant jelly beans in your back yard with the kids.

When they wake up the next morning, they will see lollipops have grown where the jelly beans were planted.

Fun AND easy!

Weekend Happenings

Well, the weekend is halfway over, but we still have some stuff going on.

On this beautiful Saturday in April...

1. Mikie is going to the dump and doing yard work.

2. Josh and Austin are feeding the multitudes at Five Guys AND Chick-Fil-A.

3. Roxie is going to bake a birthday cake and visit Grandmother.

4. I am going to be doing laundry and visiting MamMa.

5. The Faulkner Five and The Lovely Melia will be traveling to Oxford this evening to celebrate Mrs. Faulkner's birthday.

6. As always, Sunday is Church Day, Eat-Sunday-Lunch Day AND Get-Ready-for-the-Week Day.

7. And Roxie and I are going clothes shopping for a little while because The Chick has grown a little taller and needs some new Spring/Summer items.

A more boring weekend has never been, but it does look like we'll be getting a lot done!

Have a fantastic weekend, and I'll be back Tuesday with Christ-Centered Easter Ideas and Activities for families with kiddos, birthday pics and maybe a new recipe or two.

Take care, and I'll talk to you next week.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda
