Good Monday morning!
First things first... I hope y'all had a Happy Father's Day!
Mike's official 2012 Father's Day Pic!
Let's start this week off with a smile, shall we?
I ask you...
Is there anything better than mustache pictures?
I didn't think so!
RANDOMNESS #1 - I have found the ONE plant which can survive and thrive my "green" thumb... or as I like to refer to it... "the thumb of death." My Mother's Day petunias are healthy and multiplying. This morning when I went outside to water my pretty pots, I counted hundreds... nay, dozens... nay, 22 blooms on ONE of the three hanging baskets.
For me, that is simply amazing.
RANDOMNESS #2 - I am currently planning a trip around the world. I'm making reservations in the finest hotels, eating at only Five Star restaurants and visiting every zoo/aquarium I find along the way.
Oh, and I'm traveling First Class (boat, train and plane).
Money is not an issue.
I can plan this trip because there is no doubt in my mind (or Mikie's mind) it will be cancelled a few days before I am scheduled to leave.
It appears I will never leave Central Alabama ever again.
First, we cancelled our New Orleans train trip due to Austin's emergency appendectomy in April.
Second, we cancelled Mikie's overnight birthday surprise trip to Memphis (and The Peabody Hotel) due to his hectic June work schedule.
Third, we cancelled all of Mikie's Father's Day activities (and there were a bunch) due to a number of factors... work, fatigue and I was a little sickly.
As of now, I will continue to vicariously live through others by looking at each and every vacation pic I see on Facebook.
Heavy, heavy sigh.
RANDOMNESS #3 - We celebrated Father's Day with Mikie's Dad after church Sunday afternoon. Because of a few other commitments (Brandi and Jared were traveling home from a 10-year anniversary cruise, Matthew was staying with Jared's parents until they returned and Amber was working out of town), the group was a little smaller than normal, but eight-month old Lauren seemed to enjoy all the attention... and we enjoyed giving it to her.
I took a few Father's Day photos, and I just want to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of Mike and his "Father" skills. He is everything I ever prayed for as a husband and Dad to our three kids.
And we (The Faulkner Five) are blessed.
I took a couple of "Daddy's Girl" shots.
Everyone say, "Ahhhh" here.
Precious!
Mikie and his Dad.
Have a ridiculously wonderful Monday. I'll be back tomorrow with Randomness, Summer Then... Summer Now, a Recipe and pics.
Take care, and I'll talk to you in the morning.
Sincerely,
The Enchanting Belinda (a/k/a Petunia Whisperer)
That is a great Father/Son shot...you need to give one to your father-in-law. Glad to be back reading.Hope to catch up one day this week. Hope you are feeling better soon.
